Position Summary:

This position will champion the safety efforts for assigned project work at S-Chem’s Jubail facility located in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The successful Field Project EHS Specialist candidate will have a direct impact on employee safety, health and environmental performance for a portfolio of projects to be executed at our site. This job works as part of a project team that may be comprised of Operations, EPC Contractors, Process Engineers, Process Control, Maintenance, Reliability, and various third party contractors to optimize and assure safe, successful execution of assigned project work. This role provides project construction EHS expertise & leadership to promote team work in the field among all the functional groups on the project team.
Promotes proactive safety, seeks out "at risk" behaviors'' & conditions in order to achieve the overall goal of zero incidents in alignment with the Tenets of Operation, and in support for achieving Operational Excellence (OE) Compliance.

Key Job Responsibilities:

• Visible safety advocate at morning safety meetings, coordination meetings, site audits, etc.
• Promote company safety culture by ensuring safety is first in everything we do.
• Provide constructability input with respect to EHS needs to project engineers and design team.
• Administers safe work processes including injury and illness prevention, emergency response, permitting, etc.
• Evaluates work sites for safety hazards and develop plans to reduce risk.
• Performs audits to assure health and safety programs are operating as intended.
• Develops health and safety status reports for projects.
• Participates in incident investigations and risk assessments. Ensures incident investigation lessons learned are shared with workforce.
• Responsible for safe execution of assigned projects.

Requirements

• Engineering or similar technical degree and 3 + years of petrochemical plant project experience OR High School Diploma or GED and 10 + years of chemical plant project experience.
• Certified Safety Professional preferred.
• Conversational fluency in multiple languages is a plus.
• Expertise and experience with petrochemical capital project and turnaround work.
• Familiar with SAP and standard MS office software.
• Demonstrated ability to lead with a record of proactive accomplishment.
• Good communication skills, self-starter with solid planning and organizational skills, the ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time, ability to resolve conflicts with other functional groups and reach agreements.
