Finance / Accounting Manager

Job description / Role

An emerging retail business (the Company) is seeking a Finance/Accounting Manager to manage its Finance & Accounting function. The Company has two divisions - Fashion Retail and F&B Retail. With distribution rights to a leading fashion jewelry brand for 21 countries, the Fashion Retail division is expanding expand rapidly. At the same time, the F&B division is entering into franchise arrangements with unique international quick-service concepts with strong potential to grow within the GCC.

Based at the Head Office in Bahrain, the Finance Manager would be responsible for establishing the finance and accounting function and overseeing key administrative functions of the growing organization.

Key Responsibilities

Manage group and divisional financial planning, analysis and reporting:
- Prepare annual and monthly financial forecasts.
- Analyze performance against key business metrics and report progress against budgets.
- Prepare monthly management information reports to the Board of Directors.
- Prepare financial statements that comply with International Financial Reporting Standards.
- Monitor and forecast day to day cash flow requirements.

Develop and implement day-to-day accounting processes:
- Develop and implement billing, invoicing, accounting, finance, and audit procedures.
- Implement and manage accounting information systems.
- Manage external audit process.
- Establish and maintain relationships with financial institutions.

Manage administrative functions to grow the business:
- Manage the human resources and labor function until a dedicated role is created.
- Manage the projects and leasing function until a dedicated role is created.
- Carry out any other responsibilities as may be requested by the Board from time to time.

Requirements

- At least 10 years experience in an accounting or finance function of a regional retail company where a minimum of 3 years have been served at a managerial level.
- ACCA, ICAEW or equivalent Chartered Accountancy qualification
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently
- Have strong leadership, management and coaching skills to develop others
- Dynamic and entrepreneurial individual with ambitions to develop and grow a business
- Effectively plan workload & prioritize tasks and achieve deadlines
- Strong organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills.
