The RoleThe RoleFinance & Business Manager (6 month contract) PURPOSE A member of the senior leadership team for the GCC, Rest of Middle East, and North West Africa (NWA) country groupings, with input into the development and execution of the growth strategy for the geography. Be a key advisor and partner to the Group Country Manager to facilitate delivery of the financial targets in the Budget as well as delivery of long term growth targets. Accountable for the leadership and delivery of commercially focused financial support including financial analysis, investment appraisal, pricing and deal appraisal. Accountable for the financial controls within the geography. Responsible for the leadership and management of the GCC and the Rest of Middle East Finance team Manage the Dubai office management function (team of 5). KEY RESPONSIBILITIES To provide leadership to the business in the delivery of financial targets: • Ensure the Group Country Manager, Country Managers and other functional leaders are informed of financial performance; provide insight into key business trends and identify risk and opportunities (plus mitigating actions) to ensure delivery of the Budget. • Lead the Business Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting processes within sub-region for Revenues and Direct Expenses. Coordinate inputs from the various functions for both Revenues and costs, plus lead the review and challenge process. • Support cost centre managers in understanding expenditure, accruals and prepayments and improving the timing and accuracy of Forecasts • Financial analysis of the markets and Visa's competitive position • Promote education and understanding of Visa's revenues Provide financial analysis and advice for new business propositions including client incentive deals, marketing campaigns, product and acceptance initiatives, capital investment and other ad hoc projects as and when required. Provide local leadership on proposed pricing changes. Ensure that financial controls in the sub region are effective and in compliance with national legislation, Visa Inc. policy, Sarbanes Oxley and the requirements of the USA's Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. To liaise with Visa Inc International tax management to ensure that the tax affairs of the sub-region are fully compliant with local legislation and standards and are tax efficient. Responsible for overseeing the Office Administration/Management function with the UAE. To ensure that local management reporting is prepared on a timely, accurate and complete basis in full compliance with both Visa Inc policies and all national legislative requirements. Staff Supervision Management of direct reports: Financial Analysts (2), Office Manager, and local oversight of the Revenue Auditor • Assign duties and ensure these are performed appropriately and correctly. • Provide coaching and co-ordinate with HR for training, as required. • Perform Annual Performance Reviews • Provide daily supervision and guidance. |
RequirementsRequirementsQualifications: The job holder should be a graduate, ideally a qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA / CPA or equivalent qualification), with the following skills and experience: - Experience of managing a Finance function and contributing to senior management decision-making. - This position requires proven commercial and analytical experience, and reporting for a business unit within a global organization. - Extensive knowledge of financial controls and procedures, probably gained and/or complemented with experience and/or advanced skills in a major ERP package, Oracle preferred International experience ideally within a complex, matrix management organisation. - Experience of dealing with UAE tax authorities is highly desirable - Knowledge of the payments industry, in particular the card business within the banking environment, is desirable. |
