Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Managing the day to day operation of the finance department of a Stock Brokerage business unit
- Assist in business processes to ensure the smooth operation of the financial department.
- Preparation of all financial reporting requirements, closings- month and year end, balance sheet, income statements, and cash flows for a stock brokerage company
- Budget Preparation; variance/comparison analysis, management reports
- Cost Control, Financial analysis, accounting practices and reports.
- Analyzes and interprets financial data and recommends changes to improve systems and financial performance.
- Maintain, analyze, summarize and general ledger accounts
- Supervises customers transactions - Monitor customers' Credit Limit & activities.
- Examine, evaluate, and process credit applications.
- Manage cash & banking relationships - Prepare or supervise financial statements
- Prepare financial and regulatory reports required by laws, regulations of ESCA and boards of directors.
- Prepare operational and risk reports for management analysis.
- Responsible for overseeing accounting procedures, internal controls (implementing, monitoring, enhancing), and database management
- Randomly audits work flow to assure that all accounting transactions are appropriately authorized
- Collaborates with business unit managers to advise on matters concerning the Companys risks, controls, and best practice

Requirements

- Masters in Commerce, Finance / Economics + CA or ACCA qualification.
- Min. 6-8 yrs experience from finance / banking / stock brokerage industry. Should have knowledge of local regulatory authorities like ESCA, Dubai as well as Abu Dhabi Financial Markets, Central banks, etc
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Strong people management capabilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English & Arabic is essential, including active listening skills and skill in presenting findings and recommendations
- Ability to work independently under general supervision with considerable latitude for initiative and independent judgment
- Extensive skill in using a computer with word processing, spreadsheet and other accounting software + MS Office Applications to prepare reports, memos, summaries and analyses
- Extensive training and experience in financial management, modeling, and advisory
- Skill in collecting and analyzing complex data, evaluating information and systems, and drawing logical conclusions
- Skill in negotiating issues and resolving problems
- Ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with co-workers, staff and external contacts, and to work effectively in a professional team environment
