Finance Director

Job description / Role

Our Client is seeking a dynamic individual to take up the Executive position of Finance Director to support the growth of its diversified group of companies. Based in Dubai, U.A.E and reporting directly to the Group Director, this person will possess a strong combination of leadership ability, financial & commercial acumen and a solid background in financial solutions and business systems.

Report directly to the Group Director, and work with the General Managers on all strategic matters as they relate to all financial and commercial activities.

Ensure innovative funding solutions are procured for the business and its clients to support its growth plan through the development of key relationships in the banking and funding sectors.

Lead and oversee the establishment & running of financial/accounting systems, inclusive of procedures and practices in line with local and international requirements
Assist in ensuring P/L targets are being achieved or exceeded within Group Companies and regions.
Anticipate negative or positive impact on business targets and proactively suggest solutions, make adjustments to forecasts.
Model business project outcomes & understand financial implications and financial risk.
Advise on the financial implications of strategic management decisions and establishing the financial soundness of proposed acquisitions and divestment of assets or businesses, and proposed joint ventures and partnerships.
Ensure accurate and timely financial reports and forecasts for the whole organization so as to provide clear insight into its financial condition enabling high quality and agile decision making.
Ensure that the profits of the organization are protected through the establishment of effective budgetary controls and expenditure procedures.
Participate in developing new business, and assist in the development and negotiation of high-level outcomes.
Monitor & control the banking activities of the organization.
Responsible for the management and development of company IT requirements.
Lead & manage the Finance and Accounting Teams.
Coach, develop and mentor high performers and future leaders.
Ensure suitable computerized and non- computerized systems, processes and protocols are in place in relation to all facets of the companys financial management.
Develop and maintain systems of internal controls to safeguard assets.
Oversee the management and coordination of all fiscal reporting activities for the organization including; revenue/expense and balance sheet reports, cash flow reports, reports to funding agencies.
Oversee the production of monthly reports for the Board.

Requirements

Minimum 20 years of post qualification experience and experience in dealing with corporate financial management including cost and budgetary control, institutional/multilateral finance, working capital management in an organization of repute. Should also have experience in dealing with Financial Planning, Project Structuring and Modeling of Construction projects, contract procurement and risk management.

Exceptional leadership and management skills including the ability to inspire others.
In depth understanding and experience in business systems, commercial and contractual arrangements, finance and funding and accounting systems.
Knowledge of best accounting practices and standards with particular reference to the construction, building and infrastructure sector.
Highly developed strategic, analytical and financial skills to help sustain and grow the business.
An entrepreneurial mindset with an ability to foster collaborative work environment in a multi-cultural and multi-ethnic environment.
Open honest communications with excellent written & oral skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with wide range of constituents in a diverse community.
High level communication and influencing skills necessary to deal effectively with clients, financial & investor institutions.
