Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Requiring a finance director to work in Nigeria for a conglomerate and it is essential the right candidate needs to have worked in an IT "Data Center" environment.

1.0 General

1.1 Oversee the smooth and efficient running of the Commercial Dept.
1.2 Ensure compliance with statutory authority and audit requirements.
1.3 Maintain integrity of Accounting system (software), ensuring it remains effective and operational at all times.
1.4 Ensure all tax, legal and regulatory requirements are complied with at all times.
1.5 On a monthly basis conduct balance sheet reconciliations/analysis for review by the Managing Director.
1.6 Maintain effective contract management systems.
1.7 Effectively manage debt and implement effective credit controls system.
1.8 Ensure that all times the procuring is the most cost effective products and services.

2.0 Finance Administration

2.1 Analyse business performance / results, providing feedback to Senior Management.
2.2 Ensure all services are rebilled to clients and implement effective revenue assurance methodologies and processes
2.3 Ensure all supplier invoices are properly approved and suppliers are paid in a timely fashion.
2.4 In conjunction with the Managing Director, manage relationship with financial providers.
2.5 In conjunction with IT Systems Administrator, coordinate and implement Orion, providing necessary information / training to direct reports.

Requirements

3.0 Budgeting / Forecasting & Reporting

3.1 Co-ordinate and prepare annual budgets for approval by the MD. Where required, provide assistance / direction to managers with regards to the preparation of budgets
3.2 Ensure the accurate preparation / reporting of monthly financial results in strict accordance with group deadlines.
3.3 Ensure management reports are completed and reported in line with reporting deadlines.
3.4 Ensure any variations to budgets and forecasts are explained in management reports.
3.5 Ensure that end of year statutory accounts report is finalised by specified date and presented to the MD for review.
3.6 On a monthly basis track and review expenditure against set budgets and prepare a variance report.
3.7 Ensure all company assets are monitored and accurately accounted for.

4.0 Legal and Contracts

4.1 Work closely with Business Development and Service Delivery teams to ensure competitive and commercial viable contract to Channel Partners.
4.2 Monitor partner contracts to ensure renewals are managed effectively.
4.3 Work with HR and recruitment to ensure employment contracts and related benefits are in line with company policy.
4.4 Manage vendor contracts effectively
4.5 In conjunction with the Managing Director, negotiate competitive rates with insurers

5.0 People Management

5.1 Be available as coach / mentor in assisting direct reports to develop in their positions.
5.2 Ensure that relevant information is communicated to direct reports enabling them to effectively carry out their functions.
5.3 Delegate tasks to direct reports in line with skill, knowledge and ability and where necessary identify skill gaps and training requirements.
5.4 As required, become involved in relevant personnel matters including recruitment, termination and counselling.
5.5 Complete performance appraisal of direct reports within Company specified time frame.
5.6 Effectively manage all contractual issues with external suppliers.
