Employment: Full Time

We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Finance Lead to join the business in Abu Dhabi.

The role reports into the Country Finance Director with a dotted line to the Business Line Lead and the key aspect being to ensure the effective financial performance of the business line for which he/she is responsible. This will primarily be achieved through accurate financial reporting and analysis of projects and overall business line performance, as well as playing a key role in optimising working capital.

Duties and requirements of the role include;
- Overseeing operational finance through coordination with other functional departments
- Project Accounting Coordinating project reviews, project set-ups and revenue recognition with regional project accountants
- FP&A - Outlook/forecasts, analysis, planning and reporting
- RFA submissions and approvals, workflow management with submissions coordinated through the regional CFO
- Clients - billings & collections management, issue resolution
- Managing P&L and specific Balance Sheet accounts and leading the monthly forecasting and annual budgeting.
- P&L - Monitoring performance throughout the month and during the close.
- Monitoring KPIs For gross margin/multiplier, utilization, business development spend and overhead.
- Providing accurate assessments of outlook.
- Analyze SG&A in the District and work to control costs.
- Balance Sheet - Maintaining appropriate trading reserves (A/R, Loss Contract, WIP)
- Working Capital: monitoring and reporting DSO, cash collections, and billing for the business line. Helping drive the cash collection cycle.
- Coordinating with Operations, Billing, and Credit/Collections to achieve KPIs
- Assisting with managing indirect labor costs and utilization identifying and communicating areas of opportunity
- Monitoring discretionary costs such as travel, professional fees, occupancy related expenses, software and equipment costs, and makes recommendations to gain efficiency and effectiveness
- Understanding the sources of revenue and properly maintaining contracted backlog.
- Providing accurate forecasts based on pipeline
- Understanding the sources of revenue as the basis for outlook and foreseeing issues and opportunities.
- Providing oversight on major bid proposals from a pricing, cash flow, tax, contract and risk perspective.
- Working with the bid team and Finance leadership and Tax resources to ensure that margins, cash flows and risks are identified, communicated, reviewed, approved and factored into the final proposal
- Monitoring and reporting on achievement of operating objectives
- Preparing realistic and accurate forecasts, liaising closely with the business line leads
- Monitoring weekly/monthly targets for DPE, IDL and utilization
- Monitoring on a daily/weekly/monthly basis the targets for cash collections and billing
- Identifying project issues and works towards mitigating the impact to financial performance
- Identifying risks and opportunities in the business line and developing plans to manage them

Requirements

- Minimum 8 years experience in a similar role
- Previous experience working with any of the Big 4 accounting firms
- Experience of construction/engineering/
- Good working knowledge of long term project accounting
- Degree Qualified
- Must be a Qualified Accountant (possessing ACA, ACCA, ACMA or CPA) is a must
