The Role


The Role


This is your chance to manage the Finance function of a solid Construction Business owned by a reputable local group!

Your main responsibilities will include:

Managing a team of 6 accountants in running the day to day finance operations
Formulate, analyze and process transactions with professional standards and practices
Ensuring accurate and timely reporting of interim and annual financial results, and interprets advice on reporting obligations;
Research, evaluate and advise on appropriate treatment for complex transactions surrounding business projects;
Design financial accounting and related systems, in compliance with group policies and procedures and adapting those to meet the business requirements;
Working closely with operations and commercial teams to understand the business;
Attending external meetings with clients, main contractors, strategic suppliers and legal advisors to understand impact of external factors on financial profile and function of the company;
Meeting up with bankers, driving banking relationships, providing information to maintain and enhance relationships ;
Working capital management, understanding the cash flows cycles of the company and taking ownership of complete and accurate cash flow reporting;
Working with the on-site teams to understand project specific cash flow requirements;
Working closely with Group Finance function and ensuring that overall objectives of the business are aligned with the Group objectives;
Managing sensitive relationships internally and with external stakeholders;
Identifying areas for value addition for Finance and driving value;
Understanding the overheads structure and driving cost control strategies’ implementation;
Understanding the budgeting process, holding ownership of the budgets and ensuring compliance with the budgets;
Carrying out project pricing and estimation reviews and providing project profitability analyses;
Exploring and executing team building and development initiatives;
Preparing the company for interim and annual audits and assuming overall responsibility for efficient and effective completion of the audits;
Attending internal meetings with estimation, planning, procurement, commercial and legal teams to understand respective impact of their function on the financial profile of the company.

Requirements


To be considered for the role you must have/be:

Qualified Accountant with strong personality, commercial flair and assertive manner

Minimum of 5 years of experience managing Finance of a Construction/Contracting Business

Sound Financial Accounting & Reporting skills

Clear understanding of strategic business objectives, performance measures and financial accounting framework (IAS, IFRS)

Team player and leadership skills, able to set objectives for the team

Ability to work under pressure and cope with multiple deadlines
