The Role


Our Client is a world class technical service provider for the oil and gas industry. They help to design, build, install and operate oil and gas onshore, maritime and offshore assets to ensure safety, sustainability and superior value.

An independent advisor providing consulting, design, assurance and project execution services, combining excellent engineering and analytical skills with operational experience of offshore, maritime and onshore oil and gas assets.

They are now looking to hire an experienced and qualified Finance Manager to join their team immediately.

MAIN OBJECTIVES OF THIS ROLE INVOLVE:

Financial and Management Accounting
• Ensure timely submission of all monthly accounts reporting to Finance Accounts Hamburg.
• Preparation of and submission of timely and accurate management report including, but not limited to, variance reports to the Finance Controller
• Periodic review of accounting systems and internal controls to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data in the finance and accounts
• Ensuring balance sheet accounts are reconciled and appropriately documented

Cash Management
• Responsible for monitoring bank accounts and managing the cash flow of the region, including working capital management, including timely reporting of Monthly Liquidity Fund (MLF)
• Liaison with the Treasury and Regional Finance Office regarding funding requirements
• Liaison with banks with regards to bank facilities e.g. loan, overdraft and trade facilities.

Audit and Taxation
• Responsible for timely preparation of statutory accounts
• Assist the Finance Controller in connection with communication with the auditors (internal and/or external) on audit issues and ensuring appropriate follow-up action with relevant party(ies)
• Review tax status to achieve tax effectiveness and efficiency
• Main liaison with auditors on audit issues and ensuring proper follow up action(s).
• Main liaison with Income Tax Authorities and appointed tax consultants on tax related issues, and tax planning
• VAT/GST preparation and reporting (where applicable)

Legal and Company Secretarial
• As appropriate, review contracts to ensure financial viability as well as ensuring that financial exposure is minimized
• Ensuring that the statutory returns are prepared and lodged with the appropriate authorities

Invoicing
• Timely issuance of accurate invoicing, in consultation with operations teams
• Review finance processes and procedures with a view to achieve operational excellence i.e. effective and pragmatic. These include critical review of procedures on “Time-to-Invoice” and “Time-to-Cash”

Business Development
• Providing timely, accurate and meaningful management information to the Country Manager and the Regional Finance Office
• Assisting the Regional Finance Office in the preparation of business plans, especially with regards to financial justification
• Evaluation of business opportunity, projects and/or capital expenditure
• Ensure all statutory payments e.g. business taxes, payroll taxes, trade license fees, etc., are adhered

Budgeting and Forecasting
• Preparation of monthly finance forecast
• Main liaison with the Finance Controller on forecasting
• Review and monitor budget, and prepare monthly variance report for submission to the Finance Controller

Successful candidate must meet the following requirements (* denotes an advantage):

• Minimum of 10 years, some at managerial level
• Working experience in public accounting firm
• Working experience in MEA and Oil & Gas industry*
• Exposure to ERP – Great Plains, SAP R/3*
• IFRS reporting
• Exposure to FCPA, UK Bribery Act, SOX*
• Managing staffs
