Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The Finance Manager is responsible for developing, maintaining and enhancing the countrys budgeting, financial planning, control, accounting and reporting policies and practices.

- Defines, develops and implements Finance/Accounting plans, policies and procedures in line with corporate Finance strategy in order to support the achievement of overall business objectives.
- Provides high-level, strategic consultative advice as required to other business area senior managers to allow the realisation of cost saving or efficiency opportunities.
- Maintains awareness of best practice techniques and tools in the area of financial management so that the department optimizes efficiency, levels of service and quality of the outputs.
- Manages and controls the production of key financial statements and coordinates completion of internal and annual statutory audits as per agreed schedules, so that the company complies with statutory reporting requirements and meets its obligations.
- Liaises with external parties and representatives (e.g. regulatory authorities, external auditors) as required to ensure that any queries are answered in a prompt and efficient manner.
- Directs the collation of data and preparation of Group Company consolidation reports in order to ensure the provision of reliable financial data to support Senior Business Managements decision making.
- Ensures that the organization is in compliance with the tax regulations and laws affecting the business and consults with tax Advisors, preferably the assigned auditor, in order to be up to date with all the newly published laws.
- Controls and ensures funds are available to run the operations including proper cash flow management and forecast to be able to identify ahead of time the financial needs by amount and by type (e.g.: Over Drafts, CIL, Term Loans, etc).
- Updates and maintains the foreign currency needs by monitoring the Purchase Orders placed by the brand shop managers and covers the outstanding Euro exposure, if any.
- Produces monthly financial reports in accordance with the integrated forms provided by the regional office, reviews, analyzes and discusses them with the country manager before sending them to the regional office.
- Ensures that all payments/transfers to the suppliers are executed (to hit the suppliers bank account) on time (according to the franchise agreement or any other agreed upon terms) and notifies the suppliers by sending them the swift copies of the transfers.
- Complies with the Franchise Agreements signed with the suppliers and exercises all due care to maintain a good relation between the supplier and the group.
- Secures adequate financing from financial institutions to deliver the requirements needed to achieve projected growth, reviews the competitiveness of these financial costs and negotiates terms to achieve it and reduce costs in coordination with the regional finance team in case of non-competitiveness.

Requirements

- University degree in Business Administration with emphasis on Accounting or Finance. MBA or CPA is a plus.
- A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in a similar field.
- Strong understanding of financial / accounting systems and procedures.
- Well-developed professional financial / accounting knowledge and expertise in own area.
- Good analytical skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Good people management skills.
- Proficiency in excel, access and word.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
