Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Candidate initially required for 6 months, can be extended afterwards.

Main Responsibilities:
- To monitor and ensure, station finance accounting and reporting process are in full compliance and in line with Corporate Governance, Manual of Authority, Company Policies & Procedures, local statutory/legal requirements in terms of deductions, reporting and filling of returns to ensure there is no legal exposure (Taxation Personnel and Corporate, Employee related tax filling, Departure Taxes)
- The Job holder is responsible to ensure, station books (currently there are approximately 50 SOBs) are periodically reviewed, accounting and reporting are carried out in line with international accounting standards, steps are taken to educate station finance manager to correct/strengthen weak areas identified and company financial statements reflect true and accurate information
- Managing the Shared Service Section General Ledger (newly formed station support group) and sorting out all day to day station finance related activity/issues (relating to functions, system issues, clarification on process and filling the gap).
- To work, hand in hand with Seniors Managers of Shared Service Team/Head of the departments Head Office, in sorting out issues that, may hinder the smooth operations, taking lead role in streamlining the reporting process, automation of reporting activity, identifying cost control areas, part of team performing financial advisory reporting and coming with new business ideas/look out for options which will stimulate and revamp the financial reporting process resulting in accurate and timely information in compliance with IFRS/GAAP.

Requirements

Qualification & Education:
University degree in accounting and membership in an internationally recognized professional accounting body like ACA, ACCA of UK or CPA of USA or equivalent.

Experience:
3 to 5 years accounting experience of which a minimum of 2 years at managerial level preferably in airline.

Training & Knowledge:
Thorough accounting knowledge.
Knowledge of the industry and specific accounting practices.
Making presentations and managing meetings.
HR Management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High computer literacy
Excellent creative writing skills
