Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

To manage and deliver effective Financial Accounting services and related activities and pro-actively contribute to the development and continuous improvement of the services provided by the RCSI Bahrain Finance Department

Reporting:
- managing the production of monthly management reports, quarterly forecasting, annual budgets and other financial analysis including:
- improving reports design and relevance (in conjunction with Dublin Finance Department)
- generating internal management reports
- providing and developing comprehensive performance analysis, business intelligence and data mining support for RCSI Bahrain
- working with Dublin Finance Department to ensure timely production of monthly management reporting pack, quarterly forecasts and annual budget proposals for RCSI Bahrain
- ensuring the accuracy of RCSI Bahrain balance sheet accounts and timeliness of key journal entries and other adjustments

Project management:
- develop on-line reporting across RCSI Bahrain to provide improved access and understanding of monthly management reports
- managing other relevant projects within the Finance department to include responsibility for implementation

Leadership and Team Management:
- assisting and advising budget holders in RCSI Bahrain, by providing guidance and support on financial matters and analytical perspectives
- oversee the work of the Accounts Payable and Student Fees functions in RCSI Bahrain
- providing leadership and management direction to direct staff reports and staff reporting in a project capacity
- developing and implementing good team governance
- implementing performance and development planning and reviews
- facilitating continuous development planning for staff

Policies, Process and Procedures:
- supporting and contributing to the design, development and implementation of policies and procedures for the Finance function of RCSI Bahrain that are consistent with Group requirements
- ensuring the necessary finance policies, procedures, controls, systems, processes and support are in place to meet changing & evolving business needs

General:
- ensuring that all RCSI Bahrain policies and procedures are adhered to
- complying with statutory legislation and Department rules and regulations in furtherance of your own and general staff welfare and safety
- undergoing programmes of training and development as may be required from time to time
- representing the best interests of the Department/RCSI at all times
- undertaking overseas assignments as may be required
- performing such other duties as may be required from time to time

Duration: 1 year to cover maternity leave
Probation: 3 months
Working Hours: Sunday - Thursday 8am - 4pm
Desired start date: April 2015

Requirements

The successful candidate should ideally be a motivated, flexible, self-starter with the ability to interact credibly at all levels across the organisation and a desire for excellence. S/he will have successfully completed a recognised accountancy qualification, ideally big 4 trained and have gained at least 3 years post qualification experience, ideally some of which was spent in industry and demonstrate:
- analytical capability and structured approach to accurately analyse and interpret data combined with sound business judgement
- excellent Microsoft Excel modeling skills (e.g. effective use of pivot tables, macros, etc).

Experience of Agresso accounting system would be an advantage
