Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

A fast growing multinational pharmaceutical company is urgently searching for a financial analyst with strong VAT experience to join their finance team. Based in Dubai, you will lead on the company’s VAT compliance obligations across a number of jurisdictions.

Core Duties

Prepare and file VAT returns, intrastat reports and EC sales lists in different countries with the help of local tax advisors in each country.
Maintain VAT records, including VAT reconciliations and new registrations
Contribute to the budgeting and forecasting process
Records maintenance; ensure that correct VAT codes / customer details are being recorded
Assist in design of new reports to facilitate more efficient work-flow
Contribute to the calculation of corporate tax, deferred tax figures for periodic reporting
Assist in preparation and response in relation to VAT audits as required
Provide tax and financial advice to the business as required, supporting the business in setting strategies and contributing to implementation of projects
Manage relationship with external tax advisors
Any other Ad-hoc finance duties as required

Requirements

Requirements - our client will relocate suitable candidates from Europe, if necessary

Minimum 2 – 3 years experience as a financial analyst or similar, with significant exposure to European VAT
Experience of conducting complex reconciliations
Knowledge of accounting systems / ERP and MS Office (extensive use of Excel)
Bachelor’s degree in Finance
Accounting qualification, party qualified acceptable
Background in pharmaceutical / FMCG would be an advantage
Good written and verbal communication skills
Flexible and eager to learn / grow with the organization
Hardworking, high sense of responsibility, attention to detail and result oriented
Comfortable working in high pressure environment within a small team
Work within stipulated timelines
