Financial Compliance Manager

Job description / Role

The Financial Compliance Manager will be responsible for implementing and ensuring compliance with Finance and Accounting policies, procedures and controls. This position will also be responsible for the monthly reporting of all findings and deficiencies identified through process monitoring, internal reviews, or external examinations.

Essential Functions:
- Supports Finance and Accounting by developing and maintaining a business control program in compliance with company objectives.
- Ensuring effective operational accounting.
- Report the results of business control testing to management.
- Tracks all internal and external audit recommendations and coordinates remediation efforts.
- Continually evaluates and enhances process workflows to implement best practices.
- Assesses the impact of changes to business area systems and processes; provides recommendations and/or feedback on identified risks to current process, workflows or applications.
- Maintains up-to-date policies, procedures and business rules for finance and accounting department.
- Interacts with Internal and External Auditors and Regulators to demonstrate Finance and Accountings compliance with control and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

- Bachelors degree in Finance and/or Accounting required.
- 10 years of experience in public accounting and financial services industry with 3 years of experience in compliance or internal audit is required.
- CPA Certification preferred.
- Experience in writing policies and procedures required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be self-directed with ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Strong organizational, problem solving, and negotiation skills.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
