Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

This is a #2 Finance role in a large MNC.

The FC reports to the Chief Financial Officer and serves as a primary resource providing administrative, analytical and managerial support related to financial activities and other related projects. Key responsibilities for this position will include financial reporting, general accounting, accounts payable, payroll, property accounting, budgeting and all accounting related activities.

Responsibilities:

• Develops financial goals and objectives
• Manages and oversees general accounting, accounts payable, payroll, property accounting, financial reporting and fixed assets
• Supervises the areas of accounting/financial reporting, accounts payable, payroll and fixed assets , which includes hiring, training and disciplining employees
• Ensures that all activities are functioning properly and that appropriate policies and procedures are developed, implemented and maintained to ensure the appropriate accounting and reporting
• Manages the monthly close process to ensure the timely and accurate accounting and reporting
• Works with other teams to develop appropriate internal control mechanisms, policies and procedures are in place to ensure that financial activity is accounted-for and reported accurately
• Maintains and updates Delegation of Authority and ensures all financial transactions are correctly undertaken accordingly
• Coordinates audit activities
• Researches new accounting guidelines, undertakes accounting technical interpretations and implements changes to policies and procedures to ensure compliance with appropriate accounting guidelines
• Maintains active involvement in the Capital Approval Process and allocation and tracking of project funds
• Provides support for business development initiatives

Requirements

To be successful you must be/have:

Bachelor's Degree as a minimum, MBA/ Professional Qualification will be a huge plus

At least 7-10 years of experience with 3-4 years in a similar role in a large reputable organisation managing large A/P, Payroll functions

Proven Internal Controls experience

Experience with accounting systems and developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures

Demonstrated managerial skills and ability to provide effective guidance and direction to a management team and staff

Strong analytical and interpretative skills

Effective communication skills
