We are looking for a Financial Controller to support our Bahrain and Kuwait businesses .

Responsibilities:

The primary responsibility of the role is to be a business partner to the Managing Directors of the Bahrain and Kuwait businesses. In addition the role will also manage the management and project accounts process for Bahrain and Kuwait which includes both management, statutory and tax accounting.

Other responsibilities will include:

• Business / efficiency improvements
• Cash flow management and reporting
• Monthly and quarterly reporting of performance
• Annual and quarterly budgets and reforecasts
• Monitoring of compliance to Group policy and procedures
• Local tax compliance

They will be a key partner to the business who should turn to them for advice or where they have an issue. They will play an essential part in the financial management from project level, business level through to budget preparation, strategic planning and all the group audit activities. Finance in the Middle East is intrinsically connected with the operating heart of the business and the FC will be expected to provide a robust financial management service incorporating trend analysis and management information.

Technical Competencies:

Graduate, qualified accountant, with 5 years operational finance experience within a progressive & modern business. Construction or engineering services business experience is a highly desirable.
Commercially minded finance professional with experience of applying financial disciplines at a competitive organisation.
A good technical understanding of finance systems and control is desirable.
Bid support and review experience.

Behavioural Competencies:

A strong manager with similar interpersonal skills to develop productive internal working relationships with colleagues at all levels. Will be culturally aware and able to work with a diverse team. Able to bring his or her colleagues with them.
Capable of intelligent debate and questioning his or her colleagues without being abrasive – able to communicate complexity clearly. Innovate, commercial disciplined and accurate.
