Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

STRATEGY AND PLANNING
1. Contribute to developing Ejadah’s finance department strategy and plans, policies and processes for the department by providing input to the CFO and ensure their effective implementation
2. Contribute to developing the annual consolidated budget guidelines; ascertain and validate budgetary requirements and present them to the CFO for approval
3. Contribute to the development of financial projections when developing the strategic plan for Ejadah
4. Oversee Finance system requirements and enhancements for better control and smooth Finance operations.
1. Monitor flow of funds, adherence to the budget, expenditures, income, revenues and other budgetary items for Ejadah
2. Manage and review the work of the finance department to ensure compliance with the policies and processes of Ejadah
OPERATIONS
1. Oversee all operational finance activities of Ejadah to ensure the implementation of the financial objectives as per Ejadah’s financial strategy, standards, policies and processes
2. Assist the CFO in reaching the finance departments annual departmental targets as set by the CEO
3. Ensure the effective implementation of financial IT systems which will facilitate financial planning, management and control
4. Monitor and approve recommendations for improving internal financial controls, efficiencies and utilization of financial resources including financial IT systems, forms and templates
5. Collaborate with Business Heads to snsure the provision of efficient and effective financial support services and advice to Ejadah’s Entities
6. Perform service-line analyses in order to make recommendations that directly impact the bottom line
Corporate Finance
1. Develop jointly with the CFO project financing policies and procedures including the application of various financing techniques for long-term projects undertaken by Ejadah
2. Ensure provision of financial management support, including the design and structure of financing mechanisms for projects undertaken by Ejadah
3. Support the CFO in the set-up of new business ventures including performing financial due diligence and the creation of legal vehicles from opportunity identification to deal closure
4. Manage various stakeholders involved in project financing activities including lenders, investors, etc.
Treasury
1. Ensure the effective planning and management of cash flow and hedging activities to maximize financial gain, minimize costs and efficiently utilise surplus funds while maintaining adequate working capital for the Company and Clients’ Funds (Owners’ Association)
2. Review the need for the procurement of funds, and make appropriate recommendations for securing short and long term financing sources to support Ejadah’s needs and recommend options for the investment of surpluses to the CFO
3. Manage budgets and expenditures in conjunction with Business to ensure adequate working capital is available to individual Entities
Financial Planning and Reporting
1. Review and analyze financial information periodically to ensure the effectiveness of finance activities and adequate cost control
2. Ensure timely preparation and review of reliable financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, annual budgets, and management reports (including bank balance, accounts payable and receivable, balance sheet, profit loss, etc.) as required by various internal and external stakeholders
3. Ensure that the consolidated Ejadah financial information is accurate, timely and represents a true and fair view of the financial performance and condition of Ejadah to the CFO, and complies with all relevant legislative and regulatory requirements
4. Oversee the implementation of a robust financial reporting system to monitor the performance of Ejadah, its flow of funds, adherence to the budget, expenditures, income, and other budgetary items
5. Assist the CFO in liaising with the external auditors and ensuring they are provided with relevant financial information in order to adequately complete the audit
Accounting and Collection
1. Ensure smooth accounting processes are developed and implemented to enable an accurate, complete and timely reporting process to Senior Management in a manner commensurate with the relevant legislation and regulatory requirements
2. Set the policies and procedures of AP/AR activities and ensure adherence to these policies and procedures
3. Ensure timely and accurate recording of AP/AR and control the resolving of all discrepancies that arise from the three way matching throughout the financial limitation matrix
4. Ensure proper documentation of all transactions (Invoices and Debit and Credit Notes) and follow-up the collection of the outstanding Debit Notes
5. Resolve reconciliation issues with clients and suppliers directly and strengthen relations
6. Supervise the statement reconciliation of accounts process
7. Provide the Accountant - Treasury with cash flow statements
8. Prepare regular reports regarding accounts settlements and accounts agingEstablish, maintain and approve Chart of Accounts
9.
Team Management
1. Lead the finance department team by:
a. Cascading department objectives to the finance section heads
b. Ensuring an appropriate workflow management between the various sections through appropriate delegation of work
c. Setting individual objectives in conjunction with the employees
d. Providing formal and informal feedback and appraisal to employees in order to maximize employee and department performance in the pursuit of the departmental objectives
e. Managing team relations, disputes and grievances
2. Support the CFO to instil the 145 VGV culture and focusing on the continuous improvement and positive change orientation through the design and delivery of change programs and activities including coaching and mentoring, communication, workshops and trainings

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent
• MBA in Finance or equivalent
• Relevant professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CMA, CA, CFA or equivalent

Minimum Experience (number of years):
• 10-12 years of relevant experience in the finance department of which at least 5 years in a similar role preferably in the asset management sector

Job-specific Skills:
• Knowledge of and experience in International Financial Accounting Standards (IFRS) and financial reporting standards
