Financial Controller

Job description / Role

Our client, a leading bank based within the UAE is seeking to appoint a Financial Controller to the business.

Reporting into the Country Manager and Group Chief Financial Officer, you will;
- Act as the sole authority on accounting, financial, managerial and regulatory matters within the bank
- Review, implement and enhance the processes and procedures of Financial Control internally and have a direct impact on cost reduction initiatives across the business
- Prepare and comment on financial statement, regulatory and statutory reports
- Liaise with external Auditors and regulators
- Review and enhance MIS reporting on a continuous basis. Improving the accuracy of reports across the bank
- Manage the Country treasury middle office function and monitor risks concerning treasury operations. Ensuring compliance against policies & procedures and ensure regulatory reporting is completed

Requirements

- Be degree educated in a relevant field of study (Accounting, Economics) etc
- CPA holder would be preferable for this appointment or similar professional qualifications considered
- A minimum of 10 years post qualification (PQE) in Finance and Audit within a reputable, regional financial institution
- Must have held a senior financial control role with authority. Ideally board level exposure
- Strong analytical skills, with superb communication and interpersonal skills
- Due to the nature of the role, only individuals that have fluent Arabic and English language skills will be considered
