The Role


The Role


- Directs, coordinates and supervises the activities of assigned organization to achieve the Company's goals and objectives related to Finance. Performs supervisory functions and exercises authority at the Department Head level as approved by the General Manager and/or Managing Director.

- Recommends to the General Manager long range objectives, plans and programs for Finance Department. Ensures that such objectives, plans and programs are consistent with the Company's overall objectives. Follows up on the execution of approved plans and programs for assigned organizations and keeps the General Manager updated on the status achieved in important plans and programs.

- Ensures that Finance Department is staffed with competent personnel and that key personnel are continuously trained and developed to provide continuity and stability within assigned organizations. Recommends the selection, employment, promotion or termination of key personnel.

- Reviews, analyzes and appraises the Deputy General Manager of results of Finance Department in relation to annual plans and programs approved by the Deputy General Manager. Recommends changes in and/or deviations from such plans and programs whenever deemed necessary and provides detailed justifications for requested changes.

- Sets pricing level for all goods in line with company’s strategy and financial objectives.

- Ensures all accounting policies are followed and met according to set strategies and company requirements.

- Manages a team of qualified accountants.

- Extensive knowledge and background in the retail industry is an advantage

- Manages the company cash flow to ensure a smooth running operation

- Interacts with banks to arrange loans, facilities and company account.

- Prepare all budgets and financial fore casts.

- Evaluates potential investments opportunities and manages any existing investments.

- Manages the relationship with the tax authorities

- Sets the polices, systems and procedures for the financial department

Skills

- Holding a professional membership as a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or Chartered Accountant is an advantage

- 8 years experience in related field.

- Fluent in spoken and written English and Arabic.
