Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The broad description of the Fire Systems Engineer, UG Station is to assist the MEP Construction Manager, Major Stations and the Civil Construction Manager on Requirement Management for an MEP work package on an Underground Metro Rail project.

Requirements

- Engineering degree or comparable Technical Bachelors degree with a bias toward Fire Engineering Preferred
- Minimum 10 years of experience
- 5 years in similar large-scale multi use Building Projects and/ or Rail Transport Systems Preferred
- 36 months - Resident Based in Doha

- To check the Fire Systems designs for detection, suppression and compart mentation
- Be conversant with relevant standards, regulations, rules and recommendations, including British Standards, National Fire Prevention Association, Underwriters Laboratory Inc, Loss Prevention Council Board and Qatar Civil Defence
- Verify MEP openings are adequate for Piping / Equipment
- Coordinate with other MEP / Architectural trades, System Wide Contractor for clash resolution
- To ensure the installations are compliant with the latest legislative requirements on fire safety aspects
- To witness Test and Commissioning activities of Fire Systems with third party interfaces
- Verify As Built Drawings are correct

Skills/Competencies
- International Experience (Middle-East) of working in an Engineering Management Firm or in a Construction Site environment
- Excellent oral and written English language
- Qualified professional who can manage and coordinate specialised activity, discipline or team of moderate size and complexity. Leads in the formulation of advanced technical concepts.
Or
- Provides specialist services in support of project requirements. Independently performs highly complex professional assignments demanding contributions calling for the application of specialised principles.

Other Requirements
- Strong Communication (written and oral) skills
- Computer Proficiency (MS Excel, MS Word and Power Point)
- Evaluating material properties and Equipment with independent verification in accordance with international codes
- Filing field reports and supervising site individuals
- Arabic speaking is a plus
