Our client is a world class provider of food and support services renowned for their great people, great service and great results. They employ over 400,000 people in 50 countries.

Across the Middle East, they provide services to government and private offices, schools and universities, hospitals, military establishments, remote camps and offshore locations, retail outlets and exhibition and conference venues.

They are currently seeking Food Buyer for their Purchasing Department based in Dubai, UAE. The position is permanent.

Reporting into a Category Manager, the successful candidate will be heavily involved in the purchasing of ambient products and be responsible for building supplier and customer partnerships which enable effective sourcing and supply of products of the requisite quality, at optimum prices and in a timely manner and which exceed customers’ and consumers’ expectations.

Specifically you will manage the strategic assessment, monitoring and development of the supplier base.
You will negotiate with suppliers to deliver desired goals.
You will manage and appraise supplier relationships and performance.
You will implement and review terms and conditions with suppliers.
You will create positive supplier working relationships with clients and the Company.
You will be accountable for the development and implementation of promotions.
You will identify new product development opportunities.
You will review current pricing and setting price strategies.
You will carry out regular benchmarking exercises as per contractual requirements and working proactively to achieve better cost performances and get new sources listed.
Finally you will manage / finalise purchasing agreements for locally sourced products considering best value for money for our client and their customers.

Requirements

Prospective candidates should ideally have a degree level qualification, and be an accomplished Buyer in a retail multiple or foodservice environment.

Computer literacy is required, coupled with data manipulation interpretation skills.

The successful candidate will need to display creativity and imagination, as well as an appreciation of International retail grocery markets.

Candidates should possess excellent oral and written communication skills and have proven negotiation and analytical skills.

You should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, be able to adapt to rapid changes in a positive manner and work to tight deadlines.

Superb inter-personal skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.

You will be resourceful with a flexible outlook, have the ability to multi-task in order to handle competing priorities.
