Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The purpose of this position is to oversee activities of food safety and sanitation programs and to ensure compliance with ISO 22000 Requirements and Serco Policies and Procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Carry out daily food safety surveillance to maintain a safe and clean working environment identify and address any safety hazards.
- Carry out temperature monitoring in compliance with Serco Food Safety Plan and ISO 22000 requirements.
- Conduct risk assessments and mitigate risk accordingly.
- Assist in the delivery of box talks and in-house food safety refresher training,
- Report, Record all incidents and carryout investigations,
- Investigation of customer complaints, carrying out RCA and completing CAR`s / Preventive actions,
- Document control, maintain and implement operational plans, policies, procedures and strategies to improve and maintain efficiency and effectiveness for Food Safety,
- Be a part and participate in the Food Safety Committee and the HSE Committee meetings,
- Compile monthly reports as required; and
- Any other tasks as directed by the Quality & Assurance Manager.

Requirements

- Must have as a minimum a degree in Food Technology or Biotechnology.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
- Sound analytical reasoning ability and capable of making decisions on complex matters.
- A high degree of computer literacy and reporting
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams.
- Strong understanding of risk management and demonstrated ability to implement risk management processes and procedures.
- A minimum of 2 years, preferably 3 years, in Food Safety Management System.
- Thorough understanding of all aspects of quality, and work health and safety issues, particularly as they apply to FSMS.
