BASIC FUNCTION

Supports to General Manager in his assignment and assures that set objectives are
understood and implemented in he operation

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Provide positive leadership to all people within the Food & Beverage Department. Recognizing that productivity and customer satisfaction are best achieved via a positive workforce; it is expected that recruitment, training, motivation, working conditions, internal communications, quality control, employee empowerment and staff recognition will be managed in a manner to insure a positive and productive staff.
2. Act as a positive, contributing member within the hotel’s management - encouraging communication, cooperation and assistance among all staff.
3. Develop a comprehensive business plan for the Food & Beverage Department. To report and explains to outlet managers financial objectives and actual results on a ongoing basis.
4. Follows up with the outlet, train the trainers that the training program is successfully and maintains for the continuing development of job skills for all employees of the Food & Beverage Department.
5. Develop and support Profit Centre in supporting Centre Managers, honouring their “Management Charters” and allowing them independence and authority necessary true Centre Manager status.
6. Coordinates on a day to day basis with outlet managers the smooth running of the operation.
7. Maintain a professional appearance and behaviour whenever representing the hotel or the company.
8. Insure that all fiduciary, financial matters and transactions in the department are handled in a manner consistent with relevant standards and procedures as established by the company, the hotel, the Financial Controller’s Office.
9. On a day to day basis insure that all facilities, equipment, furnishing, service ware, physical inventories and any other physical assets within the Food & Beverage Department are properly purchased, accounted for, used, secured and maintained.
10. Assure that the safety, sanitation and security program within the department is understood and followed by each member to protect the hotel, the company and the customers.
11. Keep the General Manager, current on information in food and beverage such as changes or events that he or she should know about.
12. Insure that all policies and standards of the other departments, (personnel, accounting, engineering, etc.) which affect F&B are implemented, understood, communicated within the department and adhered to by all F&B personnel.
13. Performs other duties assigned by his/her supervisor.

Requirements

AUTHORITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Assures that, standards of quality and procedures established for the Food & Beverage Department are understood and implemented in all food and beverage outlets and departments.
2. Support the General Manager in insuring that professional development opportunities are made available to members of the F&B management group whether in the form of “cross training”, “special courses” advancement and promotion, or in some other form.
3. Insure that, high standards of professional conduct and ethics are adhered to by yourself and your staff in dealing with colleagues, employees, customers, vendors, contractors and the community in which the hotel is located.
4. She/he should be familiar with the major relevant Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts Operational Standards relevant to her area of responsibility as well as the local/domestic policies and procedures and consider them within her/his daily scope of work.

EDUCATION, COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS

1. Hotel High School, preferably Hotel Management University
2. English
3. 4 years experience in an equivalent position in a 5 star international hotel. Varied International experience also required.
4. Creativity, innovative and organizational skills
