Functional Analyst

Job description / Role

Core Purpose:
- Conduct business analysis in order to understand needs, complexities and constraints, transform these into requirement specifications and participate in delivery of solutions.
- Analyze and evaluate application functionality and provide direction to improve utilization of applications
- Provide functional expertise for the IT applications to Business organization.

Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with business leaders and users to understand processes, application gaps, and represent to solution owner for needed enhancement to the IT applications
- Write functional specifications to document business requirements in terms technical teams understand
- Work collaboratively with business and technical resources to develop IT solutions that help in business growth.
- Serve as liaison between users, business leaders and technical team to deliver solutions and resolve complex application issues
- Proactively revisit application success factors and explore new features that will add value to the business
- Identify impacts to business process through analysis of new requirements / solution design and perform necessary process re-engineering
- Perform application testing activities including construction of test plans and the validation of test results
- Educate users across the organization on appropriate input and update processes and data utilization techniques
- Create and manage user manuals, documentation and SOP
- Communicate system changes to the business, including translating system functionality into business relevant language

Requirements

- Bachelor degree in Business with strong IT systems knowledge OR degree in IT with deep business understanding
- 5+ years of business analysis, process re-engineering and ERP /Business solutions implementation experience
- Demonstrated experience in researching, drafting and prioritizing business requirements and functional specifications
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics ERP systems and FMCG industry is a big plus.
- Ability to think strategically, understand and translate business needs into the software requirements document
- Extensive knowledge of supply chain and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills and ability to interact at all levels of the organization
- A team player working in close cooperation with business departments and technical team members
- Great organizational skills and attention to detail
