The Role


This new role will be reporting directly to the Commercial Manager – Southern Europe, Middle East & North Africa. This Senior Business Development Professional role will lead and be accountable for the sales development and technical support. The role will reside in a business unit that offers specialty chemicals & solutions to clients who are engaged in the manufacture of Structural Glazing, windows systems and other building materials. The ideal candidate is likely to have experience in Construction Glass, Aluminum system profiles or has been engaged in design, engineering or project management.

The Business Development Professional will interact with and draw support from a global team of commercial and technical specialists who work in a virtual team environment with a focus on customers and partners in the GCC countries.

Business is principally conducted through locally based channel partners and the Business Development Professional will be the key link between channel partners / end users and Commercial Manager. Their role will be to lead local customer / channel support programs, optimizes channel operations, and technically support end users and influencers. Ability to work with end users and earn their trust as a proven problem-solver and solution-provider is key. The main objective is to continue the growth of the business in a sustainable way.

The Business Developing Manager role will be based in the company Middle East head office in Manama, Bahrain.

Main Duties
• Develop and implement action plans with are aligned to Global Marketing programs and to achieve sales and profitability objectives in the Territory.
• Manage and work through channel partners by creating the right environment at multiple levels and by establishing clear objectives, action plans and reviewing progress regularly.
• Manage direct accounts and support them technically, commercially and generate new business
• Develop new contacts with relevant key consultants, architects, general contractors and specifying bodies
• Provide product recommendations and price quotations promptly in response to client enquiries. Has the autonomy to make business day to day decision which is aligned to Global Marketing Plans.
• Liaise internally with Customer Service and Supply Chain personnel to ensure clear communication to clients on product and services availability.
• Develop “case histories” in English and occasionally in local language for the most important and attractive projects in Middle East
• Contribute to relevant marketing activities, seminars, public relation events, trade shows.
• Travel frequently throughout the territory to build excellent understanding of client needs and develop good relationships at multiple levels.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Degree holder in Chemistry or Architecture/Civil/Industrial Engineering as a minimum. Any post graduate business studies will also be seen as favorable

Minimum 10 years experience in a Sales and Technical role within the Construction Building materials or other high value B2B components. (Commodity Traders need not apply)
