Employment: Full Time

The main purpose of this is to provide GIS services to stakeholders within Drainage O&M, ensuring that the asset data held on GIS is accurate, up-to date
and available to Drainage O&M users.

It is also to provide weekly, monthly and ad-hoc geo-spatial reports that enable Drainage O&M to better understand and communicate the operation of its networks. This allows targeting investment and operational interventions.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelors degree in relevant discipline from recognized University.
- Education qualification shall be obtained from North America, West Europe,Australia or equivalent University.
- Membership of a suitable professional body with relevant experience and proven track record.
- Minimum 8 years previous experience within the utility sector and GIS.
- Proven knowledge of the drainage asset base, good understanding of the end-toend
process.
- Experience of implementing web based GIS solutions, primarily ESRI ArcGIS.
Server Experience of solution development in ArcGIS using Microsoft C# .Net or Python
- Experienced in dealing with legislation requirements and working within a
regulatory style environment.
- Utility experience and working within a similar role Experience of working in the Middle East region.
- Ability to be personable, approachable and to communicate well at all levels.
- Self-motivated, taking responsibility for self and team delivery.
- Ability to work within a team.
- Ability and willingness to identify opportunities to improve and challenge conventional ways of working.
- Excellent command of both written and spoken English.
- Excellent GIS analytical skills using ESRI ArcGIS, Spatial Analyst and 3D Analyst
extensions, knowledge of MapInfo and other GIS systems is also beneficial.
- Excellent data manipulation and management skills with knowledge of FME, SQL Server, Oracle, Access and Excel.
- Automation of repetitive tasks using the scripting languages of the above systems and tools (e.g. Python, VBA, FME).
- Ability to interpret strategies and standards on which the analysis of asset needs will be based.
- Computer Literate.
- Ability to develop and learn in the assessment of whole lifecycle asset management.
- Ability to quickly pick up new ways of working.
- Ability to work under own initiative and as part of a team.
- Ability to work to deadlines and deliver under pressure.
- Ability to provide coaching and mentoring to junior members of the team.
- Confidence to direct contractors clearly and authoritatively whilst maintaining Ashghal values and relationships.
- Strong analytical capability and advanced level of excel and monte carlo type analysis
- Innovative approach to problem solving.
- Adaptable to change and new techniques.
- Ability to manage complexity Delivery focused and work to timescales.
