Employment: Full Time

BASIC FUNCTION:
This position is for the management of a Geographic Information System (GIS), which will be utilized immediately and accurately locate network outages during a disaster. The Manager will be responsible for uploading images into a GIS application and populate all GIS attribute data as appropriate. He/She will also manage and maintain the integrity of the GIS database as well as enhance the GIS application to meet priority requirements.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manager GIS will be responsible for GIS (Geographic Information System) systems design and timely deliveries to network teams for their use.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage and maintain a GIS database to include daily updates and input of information retrieved from field engineers.
• Update all required GIS attribute fields
• Conversion of all required AutoCAD and other types of files into GIS.
• Enhance GIS application functionalities to include the integration of network Disaster Recovery planning (mitigation, preparation, response, and recovery).
• Prepare short term Business Plan for data updates.
• Use spatial information such as Geo-Referenced DGNs, images or other GIS data in order to recognize automatically the appropriate location.
• Prepare or supervise preparation of all data, Drawings, records & As-Built documents related to the project in close coordination w/ the GIS team.
• Use wide range of coordinate system for achieving an integrated coordinate system & provide support to all stakeholders.
• Understanding of GIS data policies, systems, processes and procedures to ensure the consistent performance and service delivery.
• Respond promptly to internal & external customers.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:
This position requires training and experience with GIS applications involved in the telecommunications industry. The position also requires the ability to analyze problems and develop practical solutions, plan and coordinate the work of others, maintain effective work relations, and utilize interpersonal skills in the development and implementation of intermediate and long-range plans. It also requires knowledge of GIS and telecommunication practices associated with different systems, trends and technological advancement in the communications industry and campus and/or business communication systems. The incumbent must possess administrative management and public relations skills and be extremely "service oriented" and responsive to network user problems and needs. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Geography, or Telecommunications is desired. Working knowledge of ArcGIS Server, ArcSDE, Google Earth SDK, and (Super-Geo) SuperGIS Desktop are highly desired.
