The RoleThe RoleGENERAL MANAGER Primary Purpose The General Manager will be responsible for growing the revenue and driving the quality performance of Jawahir’s retail outlets and manufacturing facility. They will manage both the retail and manufacturing operations to a high standard; • through the delivery of outstanding customer service and retail standards, and; • ensuring the quality and attractiveness of manufactured product lines, and; • promoting brand awareness, and; • manage the relationships with the brand principles. commensurate with the luxury and premium brand association of the Jawahir name. Job Scope Retail With experience in the sales of high value, high quality jewellery pieces and commissions, the focus will be on setting and role modeling exceptional service and retail standards to high worth clients. Working closely with the retail teams with a hands-on approach and flexible management style they will be accountable for owning and delivering all outlet objectives including sales, service, targets, stock-loss and brand awareness. Manufacturing Using their knowledge and experience of the design, manufacturing and repair of high value jewellery, the focus will be to oversee all aspects of manufacture. They will be overall accountable for raw material purchasing, inventory, manufacturing processes, quality and costs. Reports The General Manager reports to the CEO and has an organisation of around 20 staff. |

Sales and Service • train, motivate and drive the team to exceed customer expectations. • role-model service behaviours and standards service and ensure team members meet these standards and address any gaps. • monitor department sales, identify opportunities and risks and take action to maximize sales. • motivate the team to achieve targets by monitoring performance, giving feedback and addressing any concerns. • motivate the team to exceed sales targets, by developing skills in product knowledge, selling skills, after sales service and awareness of other services. • effectively manage returns and complaints, and turn into positives. • take corrective action from mystery shopping reports? Product • manage stock levels and ensure no out-of-stocks of core lines. • ensure merchandise is replenished to support sell-through targets. • promote own brand Omani Heritage Collection • effectively manage the best/worst sellers. • proactively feedback to Manufacturing and Sales Teams on trends and customer feedback and provide recommendations for improvement. • forward plan for deliveries, events and new season. • conduct price checks and comparison shops, and analyze the information to make improvements. • ensure the team is trained specifically in product knowledge. Required Skills: • General Management Skills – Operations / Planning / Financial. • Business Acumen. • Minimum of 10 years in a retail environment, at least 5 of which must be within a fine/ designer jewelery environment. • Formal training i.e. gemology an advantage. • Previous experience in a luxury fashion business. • Good understanding and evidence of retail standards. • Great commercial focus and excellent customer focus. • Strong empathy with people. |
