The RoleThe RoleOur client is a high profile Government entity in Abu Dhabi who is now looking for a star General Counsel to manage all legal affairs for the organisation. Reporting to the Board in this stand alone role, you will be responsible for: • Providing legal advice and representation to all departments of the organisation whilst simultaneously minimising cost and litigation in an efficient and professional manner • Providing counsel in decision making to the Board on various issues impacting the business and identifying potential risks that may arise • Liaising with other government entities in Abu Dhabi in the area of legal affairs • Providing legal representation in litigation matters, administrative and regulatory hearings and in significant business transactions • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements with third parties to safeguard the interests of the business • Coordinating activities and actions with external counsel retained to represent the business |
RequirementsRequirements• Bachelor of Laws from an accredited educational institute is essential • Bilingual – Candidates MUST be fluent in both Arabic and English – Read, Write, Speak • Minimum of 10 years PQE • Previous experience either working in a senior legal role for a government entity(s) or liaising with government entities in Abu Dhabi in the capacity of a private practice or in house Lawyer • Proven track record of success in their legal career to date • Outstanding leadership, communication, persuasion and influencing skills |
