General Manager (Kitchen & Sanitary ware)

Reporting to the CEO, the General Manager is responsible for spearheading the Companys wide scope of retail activities and projects to ensure the organizations continued success. To set the organizations short and mid-terms business plans in alignment with the long term vision for the business.

The GM will ensure that the business plans take into consideration the markets current and future needs, providing direction towards the development of sales and marketing strategies ensuring growth and development of the sales distribution area of the business. This includes operations, manufacturing, financial oversight, business acquisition and expansion and the overall strategic development of the business.

The GM will be required to constantly assess new opportunities to determine their overall viability and contribute to the growth of the business via the development and launch of new products, services, and planning the penetration of new markets where growth opportunities are maximized.

- Develop the strategic and business plans for the Strategic Business Unit (SBU) in view of the strategic context, vision and goals of the organization.
- Develop an effective structure, processes and operational frameworks to support the implementation of the strategic and business plans within the job holders area of responsibility (AOR).
- Identify and assess new strategic opportunities to determine their overall viability and contribute to the growth of the business via the development of strategic initiatives i.e. launch of new products, services, planning the implementation of business plans and the strategic penetration of new markets where growth opportunities are maximized.
- Support the CEO in setting the direction for brand positioning and the formulation of strategic partnerships for the purpose of long term growth, profitability and prosperity of the business.
- Oversee the overall operations of the business in accordance with the direction set in the strategic plans.
- Prepare and control the business annual budgets, review financial statements and utilize financial data for the enhancement of profitability in addition to assuming control of the inventory ensuring the use of an effective financial performance measurement system.
- Ensure effective financial management and the efficient utilization of resources, making appropriate financial decisions in a timely manner and monitor and oversee investment parameters.
- Assess the feasibility of new projects, products and new partnerships.
- Integrate business processes ensuring that core processes (e.g. decision making and conflict resolution) are in place, function effectively and are managed successfully.
- Serve as an external ambassador and develop successful alliances and partnerships.
- Maintaining positive relationships within the industry and its representatives, Government organizations and promotes collaborative cooperation towards the achievement of strategic goals.

Requirements

- Bachelors degree from a reputable university, post-graduate degree preferred.
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in a retail environment specifically in household goods/sanitary ware and appliances business. Ideally, possesses experience in operations, manufacturing, production, sales and business development.
- 5-8 years of experience in a senior leadership role overlooking a diverse portfolio of products in a medium to large organization, possessing thorough knowledge of the franchise business model.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in sales and business development within the GCC region in the same industry is preferred.
- International brand knowledge in the household goods and appliances is necessary.
