Employment: Full Time

One of the leading Luxury Retailers in the region is opening the doors to a brand new concept Department Store at the end of 2014 and they are looking for an experienced General Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for the operational efficiency and developing business plans for the long term future of the business.

In addition to being responsible for overlooking the strategic plan for the Concept in the most cost effective and efficient manner, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Provide leadership and vision to the company by assisting the managers and staff with the development of short and long term goals and annual plans
- Set goals for all departments/divisions
- Oversee the preparation of an Annual Report summarising all aspects of the plan for Senior Management
- Seek and develop new business opportunities
- Develop, apply and help implement all kind of HR policies
- Promote a culture that reflects the company's values
- Evaluate the business company's and the staffs performance on a regular basis
- Oversee the preparation of the annual budget
- Manage the company's resources within budget guidelines
- Serve as the primary spokesperson and representative for the company
- Manage, engage, inspire and lead the team of managers
- Actively participate in the recruitment of direct reports

Requirements

- Fluent in English (Arabic preferable)
- Minimum of 8 years working experience in a similar capacity
- Must possess the drive to meet and exceed goals and standards of excellence in spite of obstacles
- The ability to approach data and situations logically
- The ability to plan and deliver communications in an impactful way
- The ability to check processes and tasks accurately and to ensure high quality standards and output
- The ability to build and maintain positive and effective relationships
- The ability to plan and prioritise work to manage time effectively
- The drive to identify and seize commercial opportunities
- The ability to communicate and deliver thoughts and ideas effectively using a variety of tools and mediums
