Job description / Role
Charterhouse is working with a public shareholding company that specialises in running grocery retail outlets. Due to ambitious expansion plans, our client is looking to hire a General Manager to join their team in Ramallah, Palestine.
You will be accountable for managing and driving performance in existing stores. You will also lead the new store opening program ensuring it is as per plan and seamlessly executed. This organisation concentrates on demonstrating unique customer service through employee behaviour and interactions with each other and with customer therefore you will act as an exceptional people leader.
Requirements
The successful candidate should have a proven track record of leading and inspiring others in a multisite fast-paced retail business. You should have supermarket retail experience coupled with the ability to work and liaise across functions to influence and move the business forward. It is essential you are engaging, commercial, motivating, innovative, solution orientated with tireless energy, drive, resilience and passion. You should be able to build the brand and personify its principles internally and externally. A strong financial and commercial acumen along with a balance of strategic vision and practical operational understanding are crucial for the role.
Our client has stated a preference for candidates having access to the Palestinian territory areas, either through PNA citizenship or by holding an EU/ USA/ Canada passport.
