General Manager - Qatar

Qatar is booming and the retail sector is following suit. Our client, a leading retailer and wholesaler is currently experiencing rapid growth and they are now seeking an experienced General Manager and proven performer to lead their company and team to maximise financial performance and company growth.

Reporting to the Managing Director, your responsibilities in this role will include:
- Direct, lead and performance manage the company to meet organisational, strategic and operational objectives.
- Full responsibility and accountability for establishing and developing the P&L and achieving budgets.
- Develop strategies and policies to achieve company's future goals.
- Support board of directors/managers in formulating policies and projects and making recommendations.
- Develop, review, update and implement business strategic planning, including sales, financial performance and new product development.
- Accomplishes subsidiary objectives by establishing plans, budgets, and results measurements; allocating resources; reviewing progress; making mid-course corrections.
- Review, analyse activities, costs, operations and forecast data to determine department or division progress.
- Oversee key projects, processes and performance reports for data and analysis.
- Review and approve preparation of accounting analysis for budgetary planning and implementation, production efficiency, financial reporting, budgetary planning and submittal for capital expenditures.
- Develop sound relationships with stakeholders, funders and community in order to gain mutual benefits.
- Directly responsible and accountable for establishing, training, managing, assessing, appraising, developing and leading Heads of Department.
- Managing business growth and development.
- Developing and implementing a culture of continuous improvement and best practice.
- Ensuring customer satisfaction, relations and services are of the highest standard.
- Analysing and reporting on company performance and where necessary identifying and implementing changes to improve performance.

Requirements

- Master's in Business Administration or equivalent qualification.
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role with a retailer with total experience of 15+ years in a retail environment.
- Proven skills in business and financial management, with demonstrated commercial acumen.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a proactively diverse and inclusive organization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Arabic language skills will be advantageous.
- Strong leader, self-starter and high energy.
- Proven performer in achieving high targets.
