Baas International Group, a leading service provider in the Middle East, is recruiting a General Manager to lead and drive growth at their Dry Port in Riyadh.

Baas International Group is a leading B2B service provider for various industries. It has 14 subsidiaries that cater to different sectors, such as Maritime, Oil and Gas and Environmental Protection. Their Ports Services division is the contractor in charge of container operations at the Dry Port (ICD) in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. They are currently seeking a General Manager to provide strategic direction and supervise all aspects of operations at this port.

As a General Manager, your responsibilities will be twofold: strategic and operational. On the strategic side, you will develop a ten-year strategic plan to ensure comprehensive growth and development at the port and drive initiatives for HSSE, people development and customer satisfaction. On the operational side, you will be responsible for managing and supervising yard operations at the Dry Port. You will be accountable for financial and non-financial targets, including yearly forecasts, and will lead and drive cost optimization and efficiency initiatives, such as optimum asset utilization. You will also drive the recruitment and performance management measures.

Other responsibilities include liaising with the government and other external stakeholders and driving internal KPIs according to the business and operational plan. This is a hands-on position at an entity that is set to experience a great deal of growth over the next ten years.

Requirements

In order to be relevantfor the General Manager position at Baas International Group, you must have a degree, preferably in maritime or logistics, from a reputed university. You must possess at least 8 years of hands-on experience at a Dry Port/Inland Container Depot, handling yard operations, targets and processes. You must also have experience in leading teams and driving efficiency and profitability by setting up processes. Strategic thinking, strong interpersonal skills and the tenacity to get work done in a challenging environment would be prerequisites for this position.Customer focus is also essential to this role, as the company believes in maintaining long-term relationships with its clients.

This position is based at the port in Riyadh and requires full-time commitment to the location. Fluency in English is mandatory and knowledge of Arabic or other languages is a plus.
