Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Our client: A leading Electro Mechanical contracting company based in the UAE.

Key responsibilities include assuming profit centre responsibility of the existing electro-mechanical units, managing and directing the operations and projects, business development and business expansion, directing and leading the senior Managers and business heads, reporting directly to the board of directors.

Business Strategy / Financial Management:
- Conceptualise and lead operations in overall by following company policies, guidelines and goals communicated by the company.
- Manage P&L and balance sheet performance.
- Drive overall profitability and build sources of growth and value creation in line with pre-set targets.
- Develop and operationalise strategies, long-range plans, annual operating plans, annual budgets, while measuring progress on on-going basis.
- Undertake project management activities and supervise the teams.
- Provide leadership and strategic direction for the development of the project.
- Take active part in Business Development and Selling efforts; build new customer relationships.
- Plan and manage the operations team development and resource allocation.
- Develop strategic plan to advance companies objectives and to promote revenue and profitability within UAE market or any potential expansion.
- Identify any potential business tie-ups, joint ventures, mergers or acquisition to strengthen the asset wallet of the organisation.
- Conduct all financial reviews and demonstrate the most appropriate cost efficiency in all business functions and issue the reporting on weekly / monthly basis as the case may be.
- Make profound business assessment, identify inherent risk and propose the best mitigants and adjust any loose ends in the existing process or strategy.

Operational Excellence/ Team Management:
- Responsible to secure effective management of the projects.
- Act as a navigator and a visionary to build and lead a team of dynamic and innovative professionals. Attract and develop talent pool and organization efficiency.
- Promote a friendly climate, good morale and cooperation. Create strong team spirit. Protect and promote corporate reputation. Ensure business processes, tools, and internal controls to support operations.
- Run training programs for all functions.
- Be responsible for capital investment planning and control and implement business excellence Ensure regular communication of business performance against objectives.
- Develop strong relationships and communication links with key stakeholders Responsible for ensuring business compliance with company corporate initiatives and guidelines, including environmental, health and safety and accounting procedures.
- Strategic Management (Planning, Financial, Analysis, Business development) project management and in developing project plans, coordinate projects, communicate changes and progress, complete projects in time and budget, manage project team activities
- Create exhaustive corporate governance system for the company by introducing the appropriate policies, business strategies, mission statement, action plans and process manuals.
- Represent wise and prudent rationalisation and provide leadership and visionary approach to the company and always seek to support the company personnel by all means to achieve the set objective either short or mid or long ones.

Requirements

- The ideal candidate will be a Mechanical /Electrical Engineer with at least twenty years experience in a reputed organization engaged in large/medium scale electro/mechanical contracts management of Residential/ Commercial / Industrial development projects, within the UAE/GCC. Knowledge of FIDIC based contracts, project management skills are essential to the role, in addition to general management capability.
- Bilingual in Arabic and English
- A minimum of two years of experience working with a board of directors and committees.
- College graduate or equivalent experience.
- Proven skills in business and financial management.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a proactively diverse and inclusive organisation.
- Excellent, proven interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and supervise a staff team.
- Effective problem - solving and mediation skills.
- Proficiency with office computer equipment and software.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work in a fast - paced environment
- Proven ability to cope with conflict, stress and crisis situations.
