Employment: Full Time

The role of the OnStar Applications Sustain Lead is to deploy, operate, benchmark, and enhance the OnStar Advanced Systems Development Pilot Applications and their associated operating environment.

Responsible for definition of requirements, execution of design, analysis, development, testing and control of engineering projects where creativity and initiative are involved as well as some independent judgment. Exercises technical direction over other engineers or engineering support personnel and may have work direction responsibilities over a small group with specific engineering objectives. Consults with supervisor as required.

Requirements

Education and Training
•BSE, BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Chemistry, Metallurgical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering,Civil Engineering, Physics, Materials Engineering
•Familiarity with a variety of operating systems, including Windows and UNIX
•Familiarity with TCP/IP, SIP, CDMA, and other mobile or telematics technology are a plus
•Sun Java Programming Certifications; Sun Certified Java Associate (SCJA), Sun Certified Java Programmer (SCJP), Sun Certified Java Developer (SCJD), etc.
•DFSS Certification

•High level of oral and written communication skills
•4 to 7+ years’ experience in complex Information Technology environments
•Proven experience leading software development and infrastructure deployment projects.
•Proven experience installing, configuring, administrating, and performance tuning of Oracle WebLogic and SOA products including Server, Portal, and Enterprise Services Bus.
•Proven practical experience programming in Java (J2SE and J2EE) and Scripting
•Java J2EE, JPA, Hibernate, Spring, JMS, STRUTS, Web Services, Perl, Unix/MS Windows Shells
•Object Oriented Analysis and Design
•A solid understanding of both UNIX-based (Linux, Solaris, HP-UX) and Microsoft Windows (2000, 2003, XP) operating systems.
•Accustomed to 24x7 support responsibilities
