The Role


Geotechnical (Tunnel) Research Engineer 1-.Must hold at least a Master’s or Doctor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Rock Engineering or Mining Engineering
- Must have doctor’s degree or 3 years of experience after completing master’s degree
- Must have experience in tunnel, underground space, subsea tunnel, underground energy storage or nuclear high level waste repository preferred
- Must have a minimum of 3 years R & D experience. Location – Seoul, Korea
Salary + negotiable

Terms and Conditions
All positions above based in Seoul, Korea
•Employment Agreement is for 12 months renewable annually by agreement of both parties
•Salaries by negotiation, please advise current salary and salary requirement
•Korean tax to apply see below
•Single status preferred
•Working hours - five day week / 10 hours day
•Holidays – 2 weeks after every 4 months with business class air ticket to home country
•In addition to all local national holidays in Korea
•Furnished one bed apartment accommodation provided, with transport and food allowance
•Medical Insurance by company

Korean tax situation as follows:
INCOME TAX & RESIDENCE TAX (Refundable)
According to Korean tax law, all foreign Staff in Korea must pay for Income & Residence Tax. The income tax is about 10% of Gross Salary and the Residence tax is 10% of the Income Tax. Total amount of both taxes are deducted from the monthly salary. But as an advantage, Korean government refunds the tax to the foreign Staff with Engineering Degrees only, at the end of every year or the beginning of the next year. The amount of refunds is calculated from Korean Government.
