The RoleThe RoleThe British Embassy, Abu Dhabi would like to invite applications for the position of Government Relations Officer. Responsibilities shall include but not limited to:  Preparing paperwork for staff applications for residence visas, ID cards, MFA official passes, driving licences, car registration etc.  Drafting notes verbalθ in Arabic and English for UAE government departments.  Keeping electronic records of applications to various departments.  Maintaining effective databases.  General administrative duties  Processing and co-ordinating the import and export of Unaccompanied Airfreight/Sea Freight.  To take part in the Embassy emergency planning and any response to a Crisis Key Knowledge and skills: Fluent in oral and written English and Arabic A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes and be able to adapt to other systems Excellent interpersonal skills A team player who is capable of working on their own initiative Experience of working in a diverse environment Excellent customer service skills Adaptable and flexible with a positive attitude to change Proven organisational ability Minimum 1 years experience in similar role with a sound knowledge of Immigration regulations UAE Driving Licence and Car Key Selection Criteria: Communication and influencing Delivering Results Working with others Customer Focus The jobholder should be an organised, a self-starter and a confident communicator with staff at all levels. Should PC literate, and should be comfortable using basic databases (Access), MS Word and Excel spreadsheets at an expert level. RequirementsRequirementsWorking Hours and Remuneration Conditioned working hours are 38 hours per week. Standard working hours are from 07.30am until 2.30pm on Sunday to Thursday, but work outside these hours may also be required to meet operational needs. Application Process The Embassy aims to offer an attractive working environment and remuneration package for this role, including: salary of AED 7960 per month, inclusive of all allowances, Band 12; performance bonus; five weeks vacation per annum; excellent medical insurance; free, on-site parking (subject to availability); and free access to on-site swimming pool, gymnasium and sports facilities. The successful candidate will be required to undergo security vetting procedures. Potential candidates for the position will be invited to take undergo an English assessment.
