Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

JOB PURPOSE:
-Globally at each Qatar Airway Station determine both the routine and non-routine out sourced services required to support Qatar Airways (and its subsidiaries) airport centred ground services operations.
-Source from internal and external sources potential service providers.
-As subject expert liaise with Procurement Department and Contracts Department to provide a location and function specific tender(s).
-Provide senior management with base cost analysis and determine if tactical or strategic negotiating positions exist.
-Manage existing contracts to their renewal, expiry and change to cost or service level basis.Provide to global Airport station managers (ASMs) and City Business Finance Officers (BFO) direction and or interpretations on contractual issues.
-Interprets ground handling agreements to price, cost and prepares company required financial and contracting documents and assures conformity to policy and procedures.
-This position at the direction of senior management may enter into initial negotiations.
-Develops with Ground Services Regional Out Station Managers on managing service level agreements (SLA).
- Identifies performance trends and escalates to Ground Services Senior Management. Maximise off-line ground service resources to support Diversions and Emergency Events.
-Researches key business indicators (currency, CPI, Labour costs) to verify and or identify cost vs service level trends

ACCOUNTABILITIES:
-Assist and advise Operational Control Center (OCC) in obtaining off line resources during diversion and emergency events or clarify capabilities at on line airports to various types of aircraft.
-Assist and advise Qatar Airways Executive Jet in obtaining services and resources
-Assist and advise Qatar Airways ATM (Flt ops) on Alternate airport capabilities
-Take responsibility for own ongoing personal development and growth of expertise.
-Train and develop other employees, for proper succession planning and risk management.
-Assist in the response to any emergency or a major operational disruption affecting Qatar Airways or its subsidiaries, including support of the Qatar Airways Special Assistance Program.
-Train Qatari staff in the duties above.
-Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
Qualifications:

Essential:
-Post high school training (apprentice, certificate)
-Minimum of 5 years of Airport Operations experience.
-Working knowledge of Ground Handling Agreements, IATA

Preferred:
-5-10 years of Airport operations or Ground Handler at supervisory levels
Preferred:
-Demonstrated Negotiation skills and Procurement/Contract Administration
Previous

Experience:
Essential
Demonstrated Administrative and Business AccumenAirport Operations in any capacity.
Commercial negotiation preparations and planning

Preferred
Interpersonal skills to equal and higher management levelsHigh volume airport (Hub) operations experience.
