Employment: Full Time

A renowned group of companies is looking to hire a Group Business Development Manager who will be reporting into the Group General Manager and the Board.

Job Purpose

To identify, evaluate, acquire and employ profitable new business opportunities and ensure profitability is delivered in accordance with the organizational strategy.

Key Accountabilities

• Identify business opportunities either in the existing lines of business or to diversify into other potential lines of business.
• Conduct feasibility studies of projects identified and report business opportunities / threats to senior management.
• Prepare business plans and work with senior management team to sustain opportunities and achieve maximum results.
• Present a budget for new businesses for board approval and prudently manage re-sources within those budgetary guidelines according to company policy.
• Research industry through market and competitor analysis, trade show / convention opportunities.
• Project management of short listed projects, which includes but not limited to, determining market trends to help inform future consumer behavior, provide critical inputs for five year plan.
• Negotiate terms of projects with potential clients and research partners.
• Develop and implement project management plans for all projects.
• Direct involvement in project delivery e.g. meetings, interviews, site visits, re-search, drafting of findings, analysis and reports.
• Demonstrate care and responsibility for the quality and timeliness of deliverables.
• Liaise with senior management team for the development, refinement and implementation of Company’s vision, strategy and operational plans.
• Support the overall process of management and corporate decision-making to ensure the organization maximizes its short, medium and long-term profitability and shareholder returns.
• Develop, review, and report on the business development division’s strategy, ensuring the strategic objectives are well understood and executed.

Requirements

To be considered for this opportunity you must have the following skills and attributes

• Post Graduate in Business with minimum 6-9 years of business consulting experience.
• Excellent understanding of business and sustainable development.
• Proven track record of business development and maintaining client relationships, including working with senior decision makers in companies.
• Proven self-starter, who can lead and deliver projects at a high level.
• Experience in managing projects to deadlines.
• Excellent written and spoken English with ability to present professional reports and presentation to senior management.
• Advanced levels of interpersonal skills enabling them to establish and sustain long term and effective working relationships with internal and external customers at all levels.
