Job description / Role
Charterhouse is working with one of the leading business groups in Dubai. Operating in the Middle East, North Africa, Europe and North America, our client is looking to hire a Group Compliance Officer to join their Dubai office. The business is a major player in several industries including real estate, investments and manufacturing.
Reporting to the Chief Legal and Compliance Officer, you will build and maintain a strong compliance culture, compliance systems and corporate governance processes whilst maintaining the code of conduct and ethics. You will create procedures to identify compliance risks and implement mitigation plans, overseeing major compliance investigations. You will also ensure proper reporting of actual/potential violations to government authorities and internally at board level. In addition, you will identify and develop training needs and set up a compliance program for anti-bribery, anti-corruption and anti-money laundering.
Requirements
The successful candidate should have at least 5 years experience in a large multinational corporate or leading law firm, 2 of which should be compliance related. You should have formidable understanding of legal and regulatory environments as well as strong process and influencing skills in a matrixes organisation. You should also have proven leadership ability with a focus on compliance and high level of integrity. It is essential you have project management expertise and are a creative problem solver with analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
