Group Finance Director

Job description / Role

An outstanding role for a Group Finance Director within a prominent organisation. With its headquarters in Dubai, our client is the exclusive distributor for globally recognised mining and construction products in designated territories in both East and West Africa.

Reporting to the Group MD with a fiduciary responsibility to the Board, the Group Finance Director oversees all of the financial activities of the group of companies on a detailed, hands on basis, and provides strategic and operational support to the regions and regional financial managers.

The Group Finance Director supervises the finance unit and is expected to have a strong direct knowledge of the financial results and information. The Group Finance Director is also a contributor to the development and detailed planning and execution of management and financial reporting, budget management, cost benefit analysis, forecasting needs, financial controls, policies, financial and IT systems and infrastructure as well as financing, cash management, tax and treasury management.

Requirements

This role is a pivotal leadership position and thus we are looking for highly experienced Senior Finance professionals with a minimum of 15 years experience. Applicants must hold a globally renowned professional finance qualification e.g. ACA/ACCA/CIMA.

The incumbent should demonstrate strong commercial knowledge, stakeholder management skills and emerging markets experience (sub-Saharan Africa is an advantage). An understanding of heavy equipment distribution is necessary along with a history of building the policies, systems and infrastructure of a fast growing company.
