Group General Manager

Job description / Role

A luxury retail group based in Dubai is seeking a Group General Manager. This person will be leading the business and responsible for managing the growth, strategy and overall vision of the business.

They will also assist with business expansion, operations and management across the regional portfolio. The ideal candidate should have a strong retail background and have had overall experience of leading all functions of a retail business such as HR, logistics, VM, Merchandising and Buying.

Responsibilities:
* Overall Strategic direction and leadership for the group
* Identify business opportunities for the group across the region, monitor performance of the existing business to ensure profitability within the stores for continuous growth and discuss it with the company stakeholders.
* Report to the Stakeholders the business performance
* Oversee that the highest levels of quality in the stores image is applied and is in line with the business requirements, and that continued, timely, and efficient support is provided by the Retail Operations Team.
* Oversee that the highest levels of customer service is implemented in the business
* Oversee the appropriate level of security and stock control to minimize in-store shrinkage and theft
* Direct the highest level of professionalism across stores by overseeing recruitment, training, management and career development of retail store staff
* Supervise low-performing stores and implement strategy to drive quick, sustained and effective turnaround in performance.
* Establish and maintain strong working relationships with all functions of the business
* Report organizational changes and mitigate risks through effective change management.

Requirements

* Graduate or Post Graduate Degree, preferably in the field of Business Management with prior work experience in Retail Management.
* Minimum 10 to 15 years' experience in retail, with a minimum of 5 years in a luxury retail brand. Must have a strong knowledge of a Retail business as well as retailing.
* Must have good leadership qualities.
* Excellent/high level networking skills to build and maintain relationships with key accounts /stakeholders /business partners.
* Proficient in English language.
* Should be able to lead, develop and motivate a multi-cultural business.
* Should be able to communicate effectively and have excellent negotiation skills.
* Ability to build and drive performing teams.
