Group Head of Marketing

A middle east retailer with operations across 6 markets is seeking a Group Head of Marketing. This person will be responsible for overseeing the planning, development and execution of the businesses marketing and advertising initiatives. The primary responsibility is to generate revenue by increasing sales through successful marketing for the entire organization, using market research, product marketing, marketing communications, advertising and public relations.

Key responsibilities

Marketing Strategy
* Responsible for the development of the marketing strategy and plan for supporting the external communication of the Brand image as well as promoting lines of business and specific products and/or product launches as dictated by the business plan.
* Responsible for liaison with key internal stakeholders such as Channel heads, and Functional Heads to understand their marketing requirements, to offer advice and guidance to stakeholders in order to build action plans to support the marketing of telecom products and services.
* Develop short- and long-term plans and budgets for the overall marketing department, monitor progress, assure adherence and evaluate performance.
* Build the right capabilities including manpower, processes, and systems.

Corporate Advertising
* Responsible for creating, implementing and measuring the success of a comprehensive marketing, communications and public relations program that will enhance the brand image and position within the marketplace.
* Work closely with public relations agency in crafting press releases if needed, creating and developing the PR plan.
* Plan most effective media mix for campaigns to align with category and brand management
* Negotiate Media Buying at best value from the different agencies
* Develop Brand identities and assets for the groups main brands.
* Develop brand guidelines for all the 'home grown brands'
* Generate monthly reports to monitor company and competitor media coverage & activities

Social Media and Web Management
* Develop and implement the digital marketing strategies
* Grow the brands visibility and strengthen digital reputation
* Maintain understanding of the latest digital opportunities and trends in consumer interaction with digital technology and inspire the organization with those possibilities
* Identify opportunities to increase traffic towards the different websites by Optimizing web ranking using effective SEO and SEM
* Maximize online conversion through effective customer journeys and sales processes
* Support the migration towards a fully effective CRM system for all customer activity
* Effectively engage in a wide range of social media platforms and blogs
* Work closely with the marketing team to develop relevant content and improve the customer interactions
* Engage in the different Social Media & Blogs on a daily basis.
* Ensure compliance with all applicable best practice standards
* Engage with Bloggers, influencers and opinion leaders

Strategic Marketing, Voice of the Customer, and CRM/CLM
* Ensure that the Organization regularly conducts relevant market research and coordinate and oversee this activity. Monitor trends
* Responsible of developing the right segmentation strategy per Line of Business and country. This will consist of building the right value proposition for each of brands targeted segment.
* In charge of developing the customer life cycle initiatives including loyalty programs.
* Responsible for the ""Voice of the Customer"" program working with senior management to ensure that customer feedback is effectively translated into product and service development activity.
* Responsible for ensuring that the company communicates effectively with customers identifying and implementing improvements to the processes as required.
* Optimize the customer experience and satisfaction with effective customer journey (online, In-store)
* Contribute to the development of CRM strategies and initiatives in cooperation with the internal stakeholders.
* Assess and work with outsourced vendors to implement best practice CRM, Data warehouse within axiom group.
* Coordinate knowledge sharing and developing expertise in CRM within the Group
* Identify and create ways to utilize data to streamline various marketing efforts and company processes.
* Conduct benchmarks based on external and internal sources in the area of CRM and analysing the results and developing recommendations.
* Use Data to help make informed decisions and improvements

Visual Merchandising
* Develop the overall Group-merchandising plan (POS, space management, dummy phones and planograms) for new and existing stores across the region.
* Execute the VM Plan across all stores/countries on a daily, weekly, monthly basis, through robust internal processes, and managing compliance with stores.
* Effectively manage the VM resources (budget, direct reports and suppliers)
* Work closely with the principals VM teams to ensure that brands have the best in store POS solutions (from dummies, to live displays etc)
* Work closely with brand and marketing managers, operations managers, visual merchandisers in assigned stores, to ensure that the highest standards of visual merchandising are implemented and maintained.
* Work to assist the achievement of sales targets, driving sales performance through effective store layouts and experience.
* Ensure brand identities and agreed standards are upheld through effective implementation of brand specific information and guidelines

Tactical Advertising
* Develop marketing strategy to support robust go to market plan per brand/category/country and channel (90/60/30 day plans)
* Ensure NPI campaigns are launched on time to achieve First To Market success
* Ensure monthly tactical activities are launched on time
* Develop and execute activations with the youth segment (universities, cinemas etc.)
* Develop, establish and maintain Operational Marketing Plan to meet organizational objectives.
* Execute online and offline marketing initiatives, integrating online and new medias.
* Work closely with the sales channels both direct and indirect to ensure the campaigns are delivered effectively
* Ensure the VAS are systematically promoted
* Execute marketing campaigns and analyse performance that leverage behavioural interest profiling to drive new client acquisition & sales revenue
* Work closely with all the principles to create co-campaigns
* Work with finance and channels to measure campaign effectiveness and ROI

Team and supplier Management
* Design, support and oversee cross-functional teams throughout the Organization.
* Responsible of managing the marketing and external partners by ensuring that the priorities, strategy and processes are well met.
* In charge of the negotiations with vendors ensuring value for money in relation to goods and services purchased on behalf of the marketing department thereby ensuring effective management of the Marketing budget.
* Recruit, train, appraise, supervise, support, develop, coach, promote and guide qualified personnel
* Internal reporting and other duties as assigned organization

Requirements

* Minimum of 10 years experience in marketing, communications or public relations with demonstrated success, preferably in the retail industries.
* Business degree (MBA, BBA).
* Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in the design and execution of marketing, communications and public relations activities.
* Strong creative, strategic, analytical, organizational and personal sales skills.
* Experience developing and managing budgets, and hiring, training, developing, supervising and appraising personnel.
* Demonstrated successful experience making presentations and negotiating with media.
* Commitment to working with shared leadership and in cross-functional teams.
* Strong oral and written communications skills.
* Ability to manage multiple projects.
