HAAD Registered School Nurse

Job description / Role

A registered school nurse whose performance and behaviour are required to provide appropriate and safe care to students in a manner responsive to individual needs .

- Promotes health by providing health education, assists on health curriculum development teams and may provide programs to students, families, community and society to promote healthy and a safe environment.
- Participating in environmental safety monitoring (playgrounds, indoor air quality and potential hazards)
- Provides care for long term management of students with special healthcare needs.
- Health assessment for each student
- Plans, implements, and supervises school health screening programs
- Directs immunization programs within the school, and administers vaccines
- Administers medication in line with HAAD guidelines
- Provides educational information to parents and guardians
- Obtains needed supplies and equipments for the school clinic and create and maintain an environment according to HAAD requirements.
- Sets up a daily log to list those students who visit the nurse's office
- Demonstrates knowledge of policies and procedures that inform nursing practice.

Requirements

- Arabic National (Female) with the ability to speak fluent English
- Qualified Nurse holding a HAAD license
- Min 2yrs experience in the Gulf/UAE
- Excellent people skills with strong/caring personality
- Working experience as a school nurse is a plus
