Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Reporting to the HR Manager, this role supports the location in the achievement of business objectives through the implementation of excellent people management strategies covering all areas of the employee lifecycle including performance, talent development, reward, engagement, attendance management and restructuring consistent with employee standards, legislation and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities/ Duties:

• Works with the HR Manager to implement strategies that support business objectives;
• Advises people managers and employees regarding issues related to procedures and policies;
• Deals with first line employee queries and escalates more complex queries to HR Manager or Onboarding and Government Affairs Lead;
•Manages end-to-end and timely closure of disciplinary, performance, reward, talent, grievance cases and absence management for all employees and escalates cases, as required, to the HR Manager;
• Provides advice and coaching to people managers and employees across their contracts on employee relations, performance management, talent management and absence management;
• Creates and continually updates induction programme materials and makes recommendations for changes to the HR Manager;
• Delivers location inductions;
• Supports the HR Manager in the implementation and monitoring of the Performance Management process;
• Ensures the quality of employee development plans, including performance or behavioural improvement plans to ensure that development plans and career planning is clear and the business is staffed with talented motivated people who play to their strengths to meet the business needs;
• Ensures position descriptions are updated regularly and are accurate;
• Provides support to the talent development framework in location;
• Supports major change programmes;
• Ensures consistency of delivery of HR services to the location;
• Produces employee letters for the location – employment confirmation letters, salary certificates, NOCs required for government departments or applications;
• Ensures contacts within the location are provided with adequate information about HR projects through regular attendance at location team meetings;
• Undertakes analysis of people related metrics, data and trends, provides recommendations to the HR Manager;
• Perform and carry out other duties as instructed / directed by the Human Resources Manager.

Requirements

Knowledge:

•Degree educated, preferably HR related discipline;
• CIPD desirable but not essential;
• Knowledge of local employment legislation;
• Knowledge of HR best practice;
• Fluent in Arabic and English (written and verbal).

Skills:

• Strong organisational skills;
• Ability to coach and develop people managers;
• Ability to work collaboratively, working closely with wider HR teams to ensure joined-up delivery;
• Relationship Management Skills: influencing, stakeholder management, dealing with and having difficult conversations;
• Customer focus with a drive to deliver exceptional customer service;
• Delivery focused individual with the ability to work in a self-sufficient manner;
• Ability to build strong relationships/networks with stakeholders and maintain a high degree of confidentiality;
•Strong communication skills (written and verbal);
• Ability to write in English and Arabic;
• Good IT skills including word and excel.

Experience:

• Minimum of 4 years’ generalist/operational HR experience;
• Experience of coaching and influencing people managers;
• Middle East experience is highly desirable.
