The Role


The Role


This role is part of the HR team for BP Oman. In line with BP's drive for simplification and standardization, the HR Advisor will act as a crucial player in the HR team, supporting the delivery of the exciting and growing people agenda.

The HR Advisor delivers HR advice and ensures team leaders within the business are aligned with the HR objectives for BP Oman. The HR Advisor will support line managers in undertaking appropriate reward, recruiting, performance management, organization effectiveness, compliance, and disciplinary matters. Additionally the HR Advisor plays a critical team role in delivering a cohesive One HR agenda maximizing the effectiveness of talent in key roles.

Works directly with team leaders to ensure critical people processes are effectively and efficiency undertaken. Demonstrates sufficient business knowledge to be effective in contributing to critical people decisions.

Provides line management with advice and options for improving organisational effectiveness, productivity and working practices in line with the Business and HR plans.

Delivers Talent Review process for team leaders. Undertakes high quality analysis and conversations to ensure line managers provide an accurate reflection of an individual's performance and potential. Facilitate Talent Review meetings and implement effective action plans to support an upgrade organisation capability with a particular focus on credible succession candidate lists for key roles.

Supports demand planning process to ensure compliance to blue print and role requests are aligned to business activity planning process.

Partners with the recruitment team and organisation capability to identify and hire qualified candidates; suggest alternative sourcing strategies to ensure appropriate candidate flow to meet business demand,

Drives pay review and promotion process for their client group. Ensures team leaders are equipped to complete quality MyPlans for staff. Monitors MyPlans to ensure completion.

Primary point of contact for all team leaders employee relations matters. Delivery of disciplinary processes. Advises line management on employment regulations and procedures to enable successful re-organisations, management of change, improvement in working practices and productivity and without adverse impact on regulatory / legal compliance, company reputation or employee engagement.

Primary accountability for ensuring accuracy of team leader's people data. Ensures business compliance with HR polices and programmes.

Higher Diploma related HR, Business field

3-5 years working knowledge in 3 areas of the below:

*Experience in Employee Relations

*Recruitment (most important)

*Reward

*Performance Management

Strong communication skills.

Able to work independently.

Self-starter and enthusiasm to drive excellence.
