Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Our client, a large multinational firm is looking to hire an experienced and capable HR Director with "hands on" experience in Construction/Engineering environment to head up the HR operations in the Middle East and Africa. This role will be based in Dubai. Reporting to the CEO you will be responsible for an international full range of HR activities including mass recruitment in MENA region, induction, retention and establishment of "employer of choice" policies and procedures. The successful candidate should have previous work experience within the Middle East and Africa region and specifically exposure to high volume recruitment solutions in remote locations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implementation of global HR system (SAGE) to ensure database management of hiring, visas, induction, evaluation and development as well as payroll processing
• Understanding differing labour laws and incorporating differences into planning, forecasting and ongoing management of resources
• Critical role will be to implement creative and cost effective sourcing strategies through ongoing partners for development project recruitment needs as and when necessary.
• Develop effective medium term talent management strategies such as training, development, mobility (talent transfers internationally) and appraisal process aimed in increased retention and productivity.
• Develop the HR Strategic Plan in conjunction with regional business management and functional leaders
• HR Policies and Procedures – reviewing, implementing policies and implementation of HR systems
• HR Strategy – implementing and driving initiatives, advising senior management
• Compensation and Benefits - salary surveys, compensation data, rewards, benefits
• Talent Acquisition – Recruitment process, attracting talent, on boarding, exit interviews of Head Office and on site construction staff.
• Developing local policies and procedures and ensures that company global policies and procedures are implemented and followed in all countries
• Learning and Development – implementing L&D initiatives
• Develops human resources operations financial strategies by estimating, forecasting, and anticipating requirements, trends, and variances; aligning monetary resources; developing action plans; measuring and analyzing results; initiating corrective actions; minimizing the impact of variances
• Guides management and employee actions by researching, developing, writing, and updating policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines; communicating and enforcing organization values.
• Developing creative recruitment solutions for high volume hiring for remote projects in the remote areas

Requirements

Requirements:

• Ideally you will have at least 10 years HR experience working in a recognized Multinational preferably within Construction/Engineering sector
• Relevant education coupled with proven experience of working within a mature HR environment across a regional network.
• Fluent English and French speaker (mandatory) to be effective in Africa
