The Role


This leading Retail organisation is looking for a HR Executive for its luxury division. The role is similar to a senior HR officer position, with accountability for approximately 800 people. It would be working with many luxury fashion brands and reports to the HR Manager. The role is focussed very much on Employee Relations and all operational aspects of HR.

Main responsibilities:

• Implement plan for new employee induction and orientation and follow-up on progress of new starters in their jobs through the induction & probation period including identification of any training needs to complement the learning on the job.
• Facilitate the performance management process, drive appraisal process for its successful conclusion during probation and annual cycle, review & report outcome to HR Manager for further analysis & decisions in training, reward & performance management area.
• Handle staff grievances & disciplinary issues and provide appropriate guidance to Line Managers for efficient & satisfactory resolution of the same line with HR policies, procedures and undertake suitable measures to aid retention.
• Interpret HR policies and offer clarifications to Line Managers on related matters and facilitate HR endeavours/ initiatives/ projects/ processes at unit level as when required/ as per established schedules of these processes.
• Facilitate smooth transition of employees exiting the organisation by coordinating with the relevant departments in ensuring payment of final settlement dues and cancellation of visas within appropriate time frame.
• Maintain an accurate database of employee issues and prepare and submit weekly status reports to monitor the progress of the same & other HR initiatives & status/resolution of issues to the HR Manager.

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with qualifications in HR preferred
• 3+ years experience in HR with strong focus on Employee Relations
• Operational HR experience, preferably in Retail industry
• Exceptional communication skills in English, both written and verbal
• Good analytical and influencing ability
• Strong interpersonal skills with empathy and understanding
• Strong confidentiality and discretion
• Down to earth, hands on with a positive attitude
• Confident and assertive, able to make difficult decisions
• Team player with drive, initiative and proactive nature
• Good computer literacy
• Arabic language skills desirable
