HSE Engineer

Job description / Role

Parsons International is looking for an experienced HSE Engineer who will have the overall responsibility for the administration of the Safety, Health and Environmental program for one of their projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Advise on potential hazards at work site.
• Assist PM and RE in development and review of the Project Safety Plan, support Resident Engineer in implementing it.
• Audit against the Project Safety Plan to ensure project is in compliance with corporate SH&E requirements.
• Provide the project with health and safety technical support as required.
• Review safety requirements in Method Statements.
• Review ‘Permit to Work’ applications.
• Check proper maintenance, calibration and operation of all safety equipment.
• Inspect site security, fire, First Aid and welfare facilities and procedures appropriate to the Works are provided and properly maintained.
• Carry out and record regular site safety inspections for compliance.
• Lead, assist and/or participate in site safety training.
• With assistance of the project management, investigate all accidents and dangerous occurrences.
• Set a high personal example of Health & Safety at all times.

Requirements

• Engineering Degree with at least 10 years experience in the field of safety in construction supervision.
• Safety training and certifications from recognized institute.
• Relevant IT Skills / Computer Literate.
• Must be able to competently read, write and speak English Language.
• Must possess a valid UAE Driving License.
